Serial bomb threats in schools in Arras

In Arras, this Monday morning, several schools were targeted by bomb threats. Some were evacuated, we learned from the prefecture and the rectorate. A series which comes a month after the terrorist attack on a high school in the city which cost the life of a teacher.

“These alerts follow the receipt of an e-mail,” indicated the Pas-de-Calais prefecture. “As a precautionary measure, the students were evacuated and doubts are being resolved,” she adds.

Arras, Valenciennes, Lyon and Nice affected

Affected by the evacuations are the Oscar-Cléret schools in Arras and Charles-Perrault in Dainville, a neighboring town, as well as the Bodel and Saint-Vincent colleges in Arras. Also targeted by an alert, the Carnot-Gambetta school group in Arras, scene of the attack which cost the life of Dominique Bernard a month ago, was however not evacuated, according to the rectorate.

In the North, according to our colleagues from the Voice of the North, the Insa engineering school also received a threatening email. Management preferred to evacuate several of its sites, in Valenciennes, Cambrai and Maubeuge. More generally, schools in other French cities were targeted this Monday, such as in Lyon or Nice.
