Security of Jewish community places strengthened in France

As the death toll continues to rise in Israel and Gaza after the offensive carried out this Saturday morning by Hamas, the international community has stopped reacting. French President Emmanuel Macron notably indicated that he had spoken with the Israeli President, Isaac Herzog, and the head of government, Benjamin Netanyahu, a few hours after the start of the attack.

Traveling to Toulouse, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, for his part indicated that security has been reinforced at Jewish places of worship and Jewish schools in France, particularly in Paris and its suburbs.

“No threat” on French soil

At the request of the Head of State “we have already given orders to the prefects to protect community places of course. And as soon as I return to Paris, I will chair a security meeting to obviously know the difficulties that we could have on national soil,” explained the tenant of Place Beauvau, adding that there was currently “no threat” .
