A search was carried out in the premises of the DGFIP as part of the judicial investigation in connection with the PSG, relating in particular to acts of corruption and active influence peddling (with regard to a person holding the public authority) and liabilities (by person holding public authority), specifies BFMTV.
These offenses currently incur 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of one million euros or double the proceeds of the offense), misuse of the purpose of processing personal data (offense incurring 5 years and a fine of 300,000 euros), theft of the identity of a third party with a view to disturbing their peace or undermining their honor or reputation (1 year and a fine of 15,000 euros), moral harassment in line (2 years and 30,000 euros), violation of professional secrecy (1 year and 15,000 euros).
Transfer of Neymar to PSG: a search of the Ministry of Finance on Monday
According to information from Mediaparta search took place on Monday at the Ministry of Finance as part of Neymar’s transfer to PSG in 2017. These operations were carried out by police officers from the Central Office for the Fight against Corruption and Tax Fraud (Oclciff) of the national directorate of the judicial police in the premises of the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP), the same source confirmed.
An investigation published by Mediapart at the beginning of January revealed how the current Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, then Minister of Public Accounts, and his former chief of staff Jérôme Fournel allegedly helped PSG not to pay taxes on the transfer of Neymar in the summer of 2017. According to Mediapart, the tax administration could have claimed between 67 and 224 million euros in this case since it was not a transfer compensation but a payment to the player to enable him to pay his clause himself.
