The mountain rescuers in Berchtesgadener Land have ended their search for the 24-year-old mountaineer from Lower Saxony who slipped on the Hochkalter last Saturday and has been missing since then until further notice. The last members of the mountain rescue service had been withdrawn from the 2607 high mountain on Thursday evening, on which they had searched for the man for days under the most adverse and also dangerous conditions for themselves. All means have been exhausted and now have to wait until the thaw sets in, the reason given. This could happen as late as autumn or as late as next spring.
