A dead man is found in a reservoir. Many questions are still open – including how he died.

After finding a body in a reservoir in Chemnitz, the police are also investigating a possible crime. “In appreciation of the finding situation, a criminal offense cannot be ruled out,” said the Chemnitz police department on Monday. Examinations by forensic medicine should now provide more detailed information on how the man died. A preliminary result is expected on Tuesday at the earliest, it said. The identity of the man was also initially unclear.

According to the information, lifeguards saw a lifeless person floating in the water of the Rabenstein reservoir on Monday morning. They brought him to shore, but any help came too late. The outdoor pool was then closed and more than 100 visitors had to leave the pool. According to the police, they are possible witnesses, so their personal details were noted.

Investigators are now hoping for information from the public. We are looking for people who observed something in the area of the reservoir after the pool closed on Sunday evening that could be related to the death.
