Sat.1 takes off with a new slogan, new staff and new programs. A three-hour live show will soon dominate the afternoon.

The private broadcaster Sat.1 has presented its plans for the new TV season – and promises nothing less than a “program revolution”. At the industry trade fair Screenforce Days, Sat.1 also presented a new claim. “There’s still a lot to see,” is the slogan with which the broadcaster, which has been hit by ratings crises, wants to start the new television season.

Live show instead of scripted reality

Especially in the late afternoon or early evening, Sat.1 is trying a new format. Soon there will be an end to scripted docu-soaps a la “Lenßen takes over”. Instead, Sat.1 wants to send a three-hour live broadcast from 4 p.m. in the race for the quotas. “Full house! SAT.1 Live.” is the name of the future flagship, which is scheduled to start in winter 2022/23.

“Anything can happen in ‘Full House’,” promises Daniel Rosemann (42), station boss of Sat.1 and ProSieben. “We broadcast live for three hours and pick up on the mood of the day again and again – and can thus respond to the expectations of our viewers”. Topics could be, for example, the royal family or tips on how to buy the cheapest. But their own docu-soaps should also appear in “Full House!” find their place.

New faces and familiar formats at prime time

Sat.1 not only invests in the evening before, but also in prime time. At 8:15 p.m., the game show “Mein Mann kann” returns after a nine-year break. Daniel Boschmann (41) moderates the couple challenge.

There are new shows for the new broadcaster faces Jörg Pilawa (56) and Ralf Schmitz (47), who were committed last year. Pilawa prepares celebs for elementary school graduation in “Back to School.” Schmitz gets the new dating show “Rate my Date”.

Entertainer Evelyn Burdecki (33) is looking for a partner in “Pot for Burdecki”. Also in the future on Sat.1: The improv comedy “Schloss Goldbach – Celebrities much too close” and “Double cooks better”, a cooking show for beginners. Emergency doctor and Youtuber Carola Holzner (40) also gets her own documentary series with “Doc Caro”.
