Sandwich with basil and pea cream – healthy & delicious

Especially in spring, recipes that shine wonderfully green somehow look really good. Yes, theoretically all year round, because we always love it when food and preparations catch us with their colors. But especially in spring, when the sun finally tickles the tip of your nose again after a long wait, a little more. That’s where our sandwiches with basil and pea cream come in handy and fit perfectly into the season.

Depending on whether you want to enjoy the basil pea cream cold or lukewarm, the method of preparation changes. For the cold option, simply let the peas thaw and then puree with the other ingredients to form a cream. For the lukewarm option, heat the peas together with the shallots and garlic and deglaze with the broth and let it reduce slightly. Depending on the recipe, the amount of liquid to add also changes. 2 tbsp for the warm version, about 1 tbsp for the cold version. However, the color is bright green for both options, which is why you will definitely enjoy the sandwich with pea and basil cream.

And since breakfast is the most important meal of the day, the delicious sandwiches don’t have to come alone. Enjoy a delicious fruit bowl afterwards. How about this mango or our blackberry bowl, for example.

But other delicious sandwich ideas should not be neglected here either. Here we have picked out three highlights for you that you are guaranteed to love as well as the sandwiches with basil and pea cream. Look here:

Description

Perfect for breakfast or as a snack throughout the day: sandwiches with basil and pea cream.

preparation

  1. Peel shallot and garlic and finely dice. Sauté both in a little oil and sauté until translucent. Add the thawed peas and sauté briefly (the core should still be cool).

  2. Then mix with broth, salt, pepper, lemon juice and finely chopped basil stalks to a smooth cream (if you like it a bit chunky, just puree briefly). Then spread the cream on the bread, optionally sprinkle with more basil leaves and enjoy. Enjoy yourself!
