Samsung roadmap for Android 13: who will get the One UI 5 and when?

Samsung is known to have started the delivery of Android 13 and thus also the new One UI 5.0 in the final version for the devices of Galaxy S22 series began. There is now an initial roadmap for the availability of the update on other smartphone models from the manufacturer.

In the of SamMobile published a roadmap for the availability of Android 13 and One UI 5.0 on Samsung smartphones, the company lists, at least for South Korea, which devices are to be updated this year. We also receive information about which models will only be served next year.

South Korea roadmap gives an outlook on international rollout

Of course, the timetable for all countries other than South Korea can differ slightly in comparison, but in general Samsung often rolls out at the same time or with only a few weeks difference. It should continue as early as November, because then a whole range of devices will be upgraded to Android 13.

First of all, it’s the turn of the flagship models, because from November Samsung will be serving devices from the third and fourth generations of the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series, the Galaxy S20 and S21 series and the Galaxy Tab tablets S7 and S8 series. The Galaxy Note 20 will then also be equipped with the Samsung One UI 5 and the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system.

Mass market models of the Galaxy A series will be served from November

November 2022 also brings good news for owners of Samsung’s best-selling Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53, which are expected to have sold tens of millions each. These two mid-range smartphones will then also be upgraded to Android 13. In December, things will continue with many well-selling mid-range devices and the Galaxy S20 FE as well as the older flip and fold models. From January 2023, the low-end devices in particular will be able to “enjoy” Android 13 and the Samsung One UI 5.0. In some cases, the roadmap still has a few gaps, because devices such as the Galaxy S21 FE are missing. However, these are likely to receive the update internationally, as they are sometimes simply not available in South Korea.

Here is the full listing of Samsung’s planned Android 13 upgrades for the South Korean market. As mentioned, the roadmap should also apply internationally in a slightly different form.
