Restaurant “Aliki” in the Dreimühlenviertel: Practical, Greek, good – Munich

The good old Greek tavern is often said to be dying out in Munich, including in texts by the notoriously nostalgic Peffekoven. Full of nostalgia, he thinks back to his favorite bar in the Dreimühlenviertel, a Greek restaurant on the corner, right next to the railway bridge. The innkeeper was as broad as he was benevolent, the innkeeper was the soul of the place, the Albanian cultural association met in the back room, there were Hercules records and many rounds of ouzo. Once, Peffekoven and his friend Andres sang a birthday song to a total stranger at the table next door, and half the place joined in heartily. Tempi passati, this type of neighborhood taverna has become rare and the place is long gone.
