Resident Evil 4 gets launch date & free demo

Resident Evil 4’s VR mode will be released as free DLC next week. If you don’t own the main game, you can try out a demo.

The remake of the horror classic was released at the beginning of the year and was one of the most successful games of the year with over 5 million copies sold.

With the VR mode you can experience the main story from start to finish through Leon S. Kennedy’s eyes and be right in the middle of the action. You hold and load the numerous weapons with your own hands and thanks to the feel of the Sense controllers, they feel particularly realistic. At one point you slip into the role of the kidnapped President’s daughter Ashley Graham and are completely defenseless. A new trailer (see below) gets you in the mood for the horror experience.

VR mode appears on December 8th as free DLC for the PS5 version of the game. At the same time, a free demo of the VR mode is coming out for those who don’t own the main game. In the demo you can try out the first village section and the shooting range.

A completely new experience

The VR mode was developed by the same team responsible for the VR modes of Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village. The ports are among the best and most impressive gaming experiences for Playstation VR and Playstation VR 2. Resident Evil 4 VR should be no exception.

“Whether you’re playing the game for the first time or have played it before, I think this way of playing will be something completely new – I’m really jealous of everyone who plays the game experiencing it this way for the first time can! “It won’t be long before you can experience the heart racing, the terror and the excitement for yourself,” says producer Masato Kumazawa.

If you don’t have a Playstation VR 2, but do have a Quest 2 or Quest 3, there is an extremely successful VR port of the original from 2005 for you.
