Badmómzjay seems to have the gift of putting into words what many are thinking. But she doesn’t just get encouragement. She has learned how to deal with hostilities online.

Rapper Jordan Napieray aka Badmómzjay tries to be a voice for what her fans and followers “don’t dare to say”. “Or unable to say.”

People often wrote to her that she had put into words with one of her songs what they always wanted to say, the 19-year-old told the German edition of the fashion magazine “Vogue”. «I have an effect on people. I often hear that I am very reassuring. That I can take away fear and sadness from people with my energy.»

The rapper also said she had learned to deal with hostilities, especially online. “I read bad things and hostilities every day – that doesn’t matter to me anymore.” Faceless, people could write anything behind their phones. “It won’t cost you anything.” Posture means standing for something – and not just when it feels good.”

Badmómzjay, a rap artist, can be seen on the cover of German “Vogue” for the first time in April. The red hair is a distinctive feature of the musician, who was born in Brandenburg an der Havel in 2002. With her debut “badmómz” she won the MTV Europe Music Awards 2021 as “Best German Act”. The track “Tu nicht So” made it onto the soundtrack of the computer game “Fifa 22”.
