A traditional fifth of the second half, the Prix Santo Pietro will pit sixteen 4-year-old hurdle-racers against each other on Tuesday at Auteuil. Several of them have just competed in the Prix Guillaume de Pracomtal handicap on 4 October. Displayed on the podium of this reference race, IMPRESSIVE MACHIN, VAE BOSS and SAINT LANGIS meet for a rematch.
9 SAINT LANGIS (photo) : He posted a victory and two 3rd places, in seven outings over hurdles. Thus, for its return race, it took 3rd place in the reference Quinté Prix Guillaume de Pracomtal, at the beginning of October. Thanks to some progress, he should fight for the palm.
3 POSSESSOR VAE : Certainly, he is still looking for a first victory this year. However, his last two public performances resulted in as many podiums in handicaps, including a 3rd place in the reference quinté of October 4. Confirmation is awaited here.
5 SAINT-MAXIME : With only four races on the clock, he is one of the least experienced in the peloton. However, he had signed a pleasant success at the end of April on the route that interests us. Born to succeed on soft slopes, he made his debut in handicaps with legitimate pretensions.
7 IMPRESSIVE MACHINE : This son of Gray of Gray won the Prix Guillaume de Pracomtal at the start of the month, dominating four of its rivals of the day. Although up six pounds on the scale of the handicapper, he retains his say, at least for obtaining a place.
4 SPIRIT OF THE MOON : Fourth in Gr.III, last year at Compiègne, it has since taken places in a similar society, that of handicaps-quintés. He notably took 3rd place in the Prix Alain et Gilles de Goulaine, last month, and 6th in the Prix Guillaume de Pracomtal. We keep.
6 ZAKI : After winning a handicap, this summer at Clairefontaine, he took second place in the Prix Mélanos, at the beginning of September, then fifth place in the reference quinté Prix Guillaume de Pracomtal. It should confirm here, at least for obtaining an accessit.
1 COSTAMANIA: Irreproachable since her first public steps, she signed two pleasant victories over the hurdles of Saint-Malo and those of Compiègne. For her debut at Auteuil and in the handicaps, she would not surprise by giving a good reply to the previous names.
2 BALTAYA : She recommends herself with four victories in six public performances. She notably endorsed the quinté+ Prix Calabrais, last month against the mares. Although she has moved up the weight scale, and even if she is measured this time against the males, a place is within her limits.

The Auteuil racecourse will be the scene of Quinté+ this Tuesday 25 October, and it is the Prix Santo Pietro which has been chosen as the support for the à la carte stakes. This handicap in hurdles open to four-year-old horses, and disputed over the distance of 3,600 meters brought together sixteen participants. Author of an excellent performance on October 4, for his great debut at this level, Impressive Machine (7) seems to have some margin and therefore seems able to overcome the penalty of three kilos. The son of Gris de Gris should not be disturbed by the more difficult track than at the beginning of the month and will be preferred to Vae Boss (3), his runner-up in the reference race. The latter is showing good consistency and seems very close to a victory at this level. Quite esteemed by his mentor, Saint-Maxime (5) has a margin of progress and could find its way in the big handicaps. Winner at this level at the end of September, Baltaya (2) will have to deal with an overload of four kilos, while having to face the males this time. She is still able to do well, just like Saint-Langis (9), author of a thunderous comeback in the key race, in which he finished third. Formidable finisher, Spirit of the Moon (4) no longer has to prove itself in such company and has its place in the right combination, even if it has no margin in weight. Presented by Joel Boisnard, Costamania (1) has never disappointed yet but is responsible for its discovery of disabilities. Finally, One More Light (13) hasn’t shown its true colors lately and deserves to be redeemed.
