Collect yourself and relax a little in the otherwise hectic Advent, singing Advent songs over cookies and punch and listening to stories – that is the idea of the “Living Advent Calendar” initiated by Christians from the Jakobuskirche and the Parish Association of Pullach-Großhesselohe in 2003. A living Advent calendar, for which families open their doors, should not endanger lives, and that is why it will be canceled this year due to the worsening corona situation. The rejection does not come as a surprise, because the principle of the action guarantees many uncontrolled encounters in narrow spaces. According to the organizers, the following applies to the implementation: “The guests come without registering. We just open the door. That is exciting and requires a bit of courage. However, experience has shown that no room was ever too small for the guests who came afterwards. ” This simple framework has proven itself. If there are enough people who want to continue celebrating Advent in this way, there will be a new start next year, the organizers promise.
