The current German retail sales charts are available – and Princess Peach is crowned queen! Princess Peach: Showtime As expected, it lands at number 1 in the current Switch rankings, but that’s not all. It is also the strongest launch of a Switch game in this country so far this year and the second best launch across all platforms after Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Conversely, this means that Peach also started stronger than Tekken 8 or Suicide Squad. Also stronger than Mario vs. Donkey Kong and of course Skull and Bones. And also stronger than Dragon’s Dogma II and Rise of the Ronin, which were released together with Princess Peach: Showtime last week. In the Switch charts, Peach Super Mario Bros. Wonder ranks second.
There is even more movement in the PS5 hit list. Exclusive game Rise of the Ronin beats Dragon’s Dogma II here, which, however, lands twice in the charts with the standard version (2nd place) and the lenticular edition (4th place). GfK Entertainment records each commercial version individually. Cumulatively, it might have been enough for first place.
Alone in the Dark can’t spread enough fear and terror at third place in the PS5 hit list. South Park: Snow Day ends up in 8th place. In the Xbox Series charts, however, Dragon’s Dogma II manages to jump to number 1, with Alone in the Dark relegated to second place.
