The royal was probably seized by his sporting ambition: During his stay in Singapore, Prince William rowed his way to victory in a dragon boat.

Prince William (41) is currently in Singapore and has demonstrated his talent on the paddle there. On the second day of his stay, the British royal took part in a dragon boat race on Monday morning (November 6th) – and promptly won with his 22-member rowing group.

As the “Telegraph” reports, among others, Prince William was described as a “natural” by his fellow competitors after they won the race on the Marina reservoir. William previously took part in a training session for the British Dragons Singapore sports team. A race then took place between the two boats over a distance of 200 meters.

Prince William enjoys the sporting challenge

According to the Daily Mail The team was made up of locals as well as British expats living in Singapore and representatives from across the Commonwealth. At the meeting, Prince William repeatedly emphasized how much he loved sport and that he would obey “the most important man in front of me” – the captain. He is also said to have expressed concern about paddling at the wrong rhythm and thus colliding with “the whole team”.

After the race, the 41-year-old praised the drummer on the bow of the dragon boat: “The drum was very good, a very good rhythm.” He also thanked his team, consisting of 14 different nationalities, and he “really enjoyed” the race, said William.

On the shared Instagram channel There is also a video with his wife Princess Kate (41) that shows Prince William racing a dragon boat. The statement reads: “On the water with the British Dragons! It was great to see the power of sport in creating community, with rowers from Singapore, the UK and across the Commonwealth sharing their amazing camaraderie Dragon boat teams enjoy.”
