Prince Charles received high-ranking visitors on Tuesday: he greeted Queen Letizia of Spain at Auckland Castle – with a kiss on the cheek.

High-ranking visit to England: Queen Letizia of Spain (49) arrived at Auckland Castle in County Durham on Tuesday. Prince Charles (73) welcomed the 49-year-old to England and gave her a warm welcome. He gallantly kissed her hand and cheek, official photos show. Both seemed very pleased about the meeting.

The two together opened an art collection that features works by the Spanish painter Francisco de Zurbarán (1598-1664) and is part of the Spanish Gallery at Auckland Castle. This is reported by the “Daily Mail”. Letizia dressed up for the occasion: the Spaniard wore a raspberry red dress with a clutch of the same color and pumps. She had tied the top of her hair back in a ponytail. The 49-year-old also wrapped herself in a long black coat outdoors. Charles chose a light gray suit with a red tie.

Letizia visited last week

The two royals first visited the art collection before being greeted with Spanish flags by royal fans and schoolchildren in the city of Bishop Auckland.

Queen Letizia had already traveled to England last week. On March 29, she visited with her husband, King Felipe VI. (54), and other high-ranking royals the memorial service for Prince Philip (1921-2021).
