Fans disappointed about the lack of a reunion

Fans of the British cult band Oasis really don’t have it easy. Since the band around the brothers Liam (51) and Noel Gallagher (56) officially broke up in 2009, they have been desperately hoping for a reunion, which unfortunately hasn’t happened yet despite reunion rumors that have flared up again and again. The fact that their large fan base has not given up hope for future Oasis concerts is not least due to the fact that the two spectacularly feuding Gallagher brothers themselves regularly bring up rumors about a possible reunion.

This was the case again last Monday (May 20th): On her Instagram account The officially separated band posted a cryptic video that graphically promised their two million followers a reconciliation between the two brothers or even a new album. The short clip showed an aerial shot of a motorboat driven by one of the two Gallaghers heading to a house on the shore. Distorted noises could be heard in the background, reminiscent of an orchestra tuning itself.

“They’re back together?!”

As expected, this cryptic message immediately upset the fan community and inspired numerous comments such as “They’re back together?!” or “What does that mean? … Come on, don’t play with my feelings.” Today, May 23, the Gallagher brothers dashed the freshly sown hopes. with another Instagram post burst brutally again.

Anniversary edition of “Definitely Maybe” at the end of August

In it, the band does not announce a reunion, but merely an anniversary edition of their 1994 debut album “Definitely Maybe”. This is due to be released on August 30th as a 4LP deluxe version and will feature numerous previously unreleased outtakes and discarded original recordings. The highlight is an alternative version of the song “Sad Song” with vocals by Liam Gallagher.

Oasis fans deeply frustrated

Although Oasis fans will certainly be pleased with the announcement of this musical treat, many of them were downright outraged in the comments on the post at having once again been misled with hints of a reunion. One follower wrote: “I already have a bazillion copies of ‘Definitely Maybe’… ‘Soooo no tour?’… ‘I’ve heard it all before’… ‘What a disappointment’.” Another commented “Heartbroken again, still a great album but a tour would have been nice.”
