Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea remain leaders of the English Premier League after an impressive performance. In a duel with German soccer coach Daniel Farke, the Champions League winner dismantled Norwich City 7-0 (3-0) on Saturday and is in first place with 22 points after nine match days. The harmless climber is bottom of the table with two points and a goal difference of 2:23.
With crowd favorites Antonio Rüdiger and Kai Havertz in the starting line-up, but without Timo Werner and striker Romelu Lukaku, the Blues were clearly superior and started furiously: A shot from Mason Mount landed in the far corner for an early lead (8th minute). Callum Hudson-Odoi also put the ball in the far corner after a pass from Mateo Kovacic (18th). Before the break, Reece James increased it to 3-0 (42nd).
After the break, the Tuchel team picked up where they left off: Ben Chilwell scored to make it 4-0 (57th). Five minutes later, Norwich professional Max Aarons steered a cross from Hudson-Odoi into his own net. Ben Gibson also saw the yellow-red card (65th). In the second attempt, Mount converted a hand penalty (85th) in the majority, before he made it 7-0 with his third goal in stoppage time.
