Follow the 2nd stage of the Tour of Italy between San Francesco al Campo and the Sanctuary of Oropa live

Connor Swift and Rui Oliveira now collaborate at the front of the pack. The breakaway is less than four minutes ahead.

Thanks to the work of Tadej Pogacar’s Portuguese teammate, the peloton regains ground, 4’10” apart.

Rui Oliveira, a teammate of Tadej Pogacar, now puts himself at the head of the peloton although the gap had increased to more than 4’30”.

Conor Swift was designated to ride for Ineos Grenadiers, the gap continues to increase, to 4’30”.

The runners covered 45.7km in the first hour of the race.

The French team is at the front of the peloton, right behind Jhonatan Narvaez’s teammates. The gap is 4 minutes with the breakaway.

Good humor is present in the peloton, the day is calm for the moment.

We will have to wait for the intermediate sprint at Valdengo, more than 60 kilometers away, to find the first reliefs of the day.

We now control the gap in the peloton. The leaders should therefore be able to compete for stage victory.

This is enough to do business for the UAE Emirates team: Ineos Grenadiers are running – for the moment at a moderate pace – at the head of the peloton.

3’30” ahead for the breakaway, Andrea Piccolo is the most dangerous overall, 1’07” behind Jhonatan Narvaez.

It’s over for the backpackers who wanted to leave, the blow has taken off.

Filippo Fiorelli (VF Group-Bardiani) is still ahead, along with his teammate Martin Marcellusi. Davide Bais (Polti-Kometa), Andrea Piccolo (EF Education – Easy Post) and Christian Scaroni (Astana) are also up front.

Big favorite to win the Tour of Italy and contender for a rare double in the same season with the Tour de France, Tadej Pogacar has the opportunity to write a little more cycling history this season.
