Pregnant Alexandra R.: Murder charges admitted against two men – Bavaria

The trial surrounding the alleged murder of a pregnant woman from Nuremberg begins on April 9th. The Nuremberg-Fürth regional court has admitted the prosecution’s charges against two accused to the main hearing, a court spokeswoman announced on Thursday. Appointments are planned until July.

The 39-year-old disappeared on December 9, 2022 – her body has not been found to this day. Nevertheless, in January the public prosecutor’s office charged the woman’s former partner and his business partner with murder and hostage-taking. The investigators are convinced that the men overpowered, kidnapped and killed the heavily pregnant woman at the time.

The 50-year-old from Bosnia-Herzegovina and his 48-year-old German business partner have so far remained silent about the allegations. The prosecution sees the motive as a dispute over, among other things, a lot of money. The accused have been in custody since September 2023.

Since the woman’s body has not yet been found and the accused have not commented, the public prosecutor’s office is relying on a large number of witnesses for the proceedings. According to the prosecution, more than 100 will testify in court, and ten experts will also take part in the trial.
