Portrait of the European Shooting Star Katharina Stark – Munich

Katharina Stark stands on the street on a winter night and is cold. She’s not wearing a coat; a snowflake lands on her bare shoulder. It melts immediately. This is how the series “Deutsches Haus” begins, about a young Polish interpreter who is confronted with the Nazi atrocities and the secrets of her own family at the Frankfurt Auschwitz Trials in 1963. The main character Eva, played by Stark, is initially clueless, a well-behaved and very well-adjusted German lady. But soon she doesn’t let anything or anyone stop her – especially not the weather or increasingly contradictory statements. She is a woman on fire.
