Police seize 800,000 seized cigarettes and dismantle a network

The Gard police officers dismantled a major cigarette traffic which was flooding Nîmes and several towns in the department. These cigarettes could in particular have been sold in night establishments completely illegally.

Aged 16 and 20, the two suspects were arrested in Saint-Gilles, a town south of Nîmes. In a warehouse, they seized nearly 4,000 cartridges, or around 800,000 contraband cigarettes. Arrested, the two young men were released following their custody at the Nîmes police station. The preliminary investigation opened by departmental security agents continues.
