Police call 110 today from Frankfurt (Oder): pigs and salami bread

“Police call 110”
A crime thriller as dry as the inspector’s salami bread

The “Police call 110: Pigs” leads inspectors Luschke and Rogov to a murder case in the Polish forest: Did the victim die because a hunt got out of hand? Because there were tensions in the illustrious hunting party.

  • Unfortunately, it’s a rather tough crime thriller about a murder case on the German-Polish border with suspects from the hunting community

What’s the matter?

On the German side of the Oder, Leon Herne (Kai Dannowski), who was part of a hunting party, is found dead with a gunshot wound. The two detectives Alexandra Luschke (Gisa Flake) and Karl Rogov (Frank Leo Schröder), who are investigating this case together for the first time, follow his trail through the forest to the Polish side and have to deal with suspects who are violating their rights are very well aware. You need to find out if a competitor has been eliminated or a Hunting has gotten out of hand. But the Polish hunting leader (Piotr Witkowski), who let the upper-class troop hunt illegally and also runs a pig farm, is also suspicious.

Why is “Police Call 110: Pigs” worth it?”

The border region with farms such as the organically converted pig farm and a wealth of green forests is shown realistically. The sayings between Commissioner Luschke and Commissioner Rogov (“I haven’t had a woman as a colleague in a long time.” – “You can tell”) are fun.

What bothers?

Unfortunately, the balancing act between the stories of the farming family plagued by swine fever and the toxic father-son duo from the upper class is not successful. The crime thriller just doesn’t really get going and falls back too often on flat stereotypes.

The commissioners?

Are the bright spot in this crime thriller. Because Commissioner Luschke and Commissioner Rogov are investigating alone for the first time, they first have to warm up to each other. While he would like to call for reinforcements while smacking dry salami bread, she is confident: “The two of us will do it now!” In the end, he doesn’t hold it against her that she sometimes interrupts him and delegates tasks in a friendly manner. The couple gets into the groove – they just wish they had a more exciting case. Nevertheless, the flamboyant Inspector Vincent Ross (André Kaczmarczyk), who would otherwise bring a bit more glamor to the RBB production, is missing. However, the team should also be seen with changing line-ups in the future.

Turn on or off?

This “Polizeiruf 110” is only for real fans. The butter is missing on the salami bread.
