Podcast “Munich personally”: Till Hofmann about the desire for culture – Munich

Without Till Hofmann, the city’s cultural scene would be poorer. For a long time he led the laughing and shooting society, now he is preparing the interim use of the empty Gasteig. In the SZ podcast “Munich personally” he tells what drives him and what he thinks of Bruno Jonas.

It takes a lot of entrepreneurial spirit and courage to set up cultural programs as a private organizer. Till Hofmann obviously has both – and a pretty good feeling for artists and people in general. Born in Passau in 1970, he is undoubtedly one of the most important and experienced organizers in Munich. For 20 years he was managing director of the laughing and shooting society, he owns the Schwabing cabaret Lustspielhaus and Vereinsheim, he founded the Milla Club and is a co-initiator of the Bellevue di Monaco social cooperative. Now he wants to temporarily use the empty Gasteig together with three other artists. A mammoth project.

Whenever you speak to Hofmann, the 52-year-old exudes an amazing serenity. In the SZ podcast “Munich Personally” he talks about his projects, tells how they came about and what is important to him about them. He reveals what he thinks about the cabaret artist Bruno Jonas, with whom he had dealings since he was a teenager, and what he thinks is good cabaret.

For the podcast of the Munich editorial team, the People editor Sabine Buchwald, the social editor Jana Jöbstl and Ulrike Heidenreich and René Hofmann, the heads of the Munich, Region and Bavaria departments, alternately meet with very different guests. They pick them up at their place of residence or their place of work. They then drive their personal route by tram, bus, subway or S-Bahn or a taxi.

It’s about current projects and very personal plans, about topics that move the city. The SZ podcast team invites people who have a connection to Munich. You live in the city or you are visiting. They come from the fields of politics, gastronomy, culture, sports or media.
