The small hamlet of Saint-Herbot, between Plonévez-du-Faou and Loqueffret, experienced a tragic night on Saturday. Around 9 p.m., gunshots broke out in the garden of a private property, located 50 m from the church square. According to our information, a neighborhood dispute would have opposed an individual and a family of four.
The shots were fired at a British couple in their forties, who arrived in the town with their two daughters, aged 8 and 12, less than five years ago. The eldest of the couple’s children has died, the father is between life and death and the mother seriously injured. The youngest is physically unscathed and managed to take refuge with a neighbour.
A man of Belgian origin, in his 70s who had been living in the town for three to four years and neighbor of the family, was arrested by the Psig (Peloton of surveillance and intervention of the gendarmerie).
