Peter Urban on possible ESC successors: “I find Böhmermann too pinched”

Peter Urban has been commentating on the Eurovision Song Contest for ARD since 1997, this year for the last time. In an interview, he reveals what he thinks of his supposed successors and how Lena Meyer-Landrut and Stefan Raab were behind the scenes.

It happened again recently when Peter Urban ordered something from the meat counter in a Hamburg supermarket: the saleswoman recognized his voice. That often happens, not only in the north, but also in Stuttgart or Munich, and not only at the meat counter, but also at the airport or in the city. His voice is his capital. Anyone who has seen the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) several times will recognize them.
