In London, a man is said to have driven a car into a building before attacking passers-by with a sword. There is currently no suspicion of terrorism.

The people of London Police have arrested a man with a sword who is said to have injured several people in the northeast of the city. A 13-year-old boy was killed. The teenager was taken to hospital with stab wounds but died there, Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell of London Police said on Tuesday. Two police officers suffered significant injuries and were operated on. But their lives are probably out of danger. Two other people were also injured, but not life-threateningly, Bell said.

The Metropolitan Police said they received a report that a vehicle had driven into a building in the Hainault district and several people had been stabbed. According to initial investigations, the suspect is said to have attacked people in public and two police officers.

No suspicion of terrorism in London

“This must have been a terrible incident for those affected,” said Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan. “We do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public. We are not looking for any additional suspects. The incident does not appear to be related to terrorism.”

Great Britain’s Home Secretary James Cleverly thanked the rescue workers and said on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that his thoughts were with those affected. Cleverly also called on people not to speculate or distribute footage of the case online, but to report important information to the police.
