The Munich District Court has issued a criminal order against Mohamed Ibrahim, imam of the Islamic Center Munich (IZM), for condoning criminal offenses. Because an objection was raised, a court hearing was held. District court spokesman Martin Swoboda confirmed this at the request of the SZ. First had the Bild newspaper reported about it.
The prayer leader posted on Facebook in Arabic on October 7, the day of Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israeli civilians: “Everyone has their own way of celebrating October.” He captioned the message with a smiling smiley. Because of the initial suspicion of condoning crimes, the Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office then began an investigation. The IZM in Freimann had temporarily suspended the prayer leader. But he is now back in office.
