Parks stormed due to the weather

The crowd storms the parks of Lille – 20 minutes

Sun, I forget everything. The North has been experiencing particularly mild weather conditions for a few days. The sun is shining and the temperatures have even reached record highs. These are all factors that push the inhabitants of Lille to squat in municipal parks and public spaces despite the health rules in force and the confinement.

In Lille, since Monday, during the day but particularly at the end of the afternoon, every inch of the lawn is quickly occupied by people to drink a drink, read or simply rest in the warmth of this early spring.

About 1,500 people evacuated from the Vauban garden

A rather neat activity in short, if we forget the coronavirus epidemic. In fact, in parks and gardens, distances are shrinking and masks are falling. An attitude that is not to the liking of the authorities responsible for enforcing barrier gestures and the rules of confinement.

So several times a day, the police organize operations to evacuate the crowded parks and impose fines on the most recalcitrant. This Wednesday evening, in the Vauban garden, around 1,500 people were ordered to leave the premises. About fifty reports were drawn up, mainly for alcohol consumption on public roads and not wearing a mask.
