DECRYPTION – While the Minister of Education has alienated establishments under contract by accusing them of maintaining social segregation, he will only reveal this Thursday part of his plan for diversity, intended for the public.
Private establishments under contract accused of sustaining social segregation and urged to make efforts. It is in these terms that the debate on diversity at school has arisen, the declared priority of Minister Pap Ndiaye, since the publication of the social positioning indices (IPS) of colleges, in October. Eagerly awaited on the left as on the right on the possible constraints which could weigh on private education under contract, Pap Ndiaye is in a very uncomfortable position at the time of the announcements. Far from being thunderous, they will take the form, this Thursday, of a communication to the rectors who will be assigned objectives to improve diversity at the start of the 2023 school year. As for the “protocol” on which the minister has been working for several weeks with the Catholic education – which represents the overwhelming majority of private under contract – it will only be unveiled in a few days, around May 17.
