A major police operation is underway at a high school in Osnabrück. She writes on X (formerly Twitter). Osnabrück Police shortly after 11 a.m.: “We are currently having a major police operation at a high school on Knollstrasse in #Osnabrück. Please avoid the area!” A little later, the police asked people to leave the street. A slight all-clear follows: “According to what we know so far, there are no injuries. We have a lot of forces on site to clarify the situation.” At 11:56 a.m. the police promise to provide confirmed information as soon as it is available.

“There are NO injured! The students are being protected by the police. There have been no arrests so far. We are still on site with many forces to clarify the situation,” the police wrote at 12:13 p.m. What exactly happened or whether there was a threat against the school remains unclear. According to the police, contact points have now been set up for parents and media representatives.

Osnabrück police contradict rumor

In any case, the police contradict one rumor: “In the context of the police operation on Knollstrasse in #Osnabrück, rumors are circulating about a hostage situation. This is fake news – there is NO hostage situation! We are on site, protecting the students and continuing to clarify the situation.”
