8:30 a.m .: One dead in kyiv after a “massive” attack by Russian drones
A man has died in kyiv after a Russian drone attack, its mayor announced on Sunday. “In the capital’s Solomyanskyi district, due to falling debris from drones near a gas station, a 35-year-old woman was hospitalized and a 41-year-old man died,” Vitali Klitschko wrote. on Telegram.
The mayor described this new attack as “massive” and called on the population to stay safe, warning against new waves of drones descending on Kiev “from several directions at once”. He had explained earlier that kyiv’s air defense had shot down “more than 20 drones” heading towards the city.
This drone attack is the 14th on the Ukrainian capital since the beginning of May.
