The war of ideas continues on the left. Returning to the “work value” defended by the boss of the PCF Fabien Roussel, the first secretary of the PS, Olivier Faure, estimated on Saturday that “the real fraudsters” are rather those who defraud 80 billion euros each year in the tax department.
“We cannot suggest that there are people who would choose inactivity. It can happen (…) but they are in the minority, ”said Olivier Faure in a speech delivered at the 50th edition of the Rose Festival in Frangy-en-Bresse in Saône-et-Loire.

The former presidential candidate, Fabien Roussel, declared on Friday at the Fête de l’Humanité that “the left must defend work and not be the left of allowances and social minima”, triggering a shower of criticism within Nupes.
“People who seek to use collective solidarity mechanisms are in the minority and those who cheat the most are not those who receive the RSA or unemployment”, therefore replied, from a distance, Olivier Faure, warmly applauded.
“Let’s not oppose each other”
“Those who defraud the most are those who each year make sure to put 80 billion outside our borders and who make sure that they no longer pay what they owe and what they don’t pay is all of you and all who pay it,” he added. “So let’s not oppose each other,” he concluded during this 50th Rose Festival in Frangy-en-Bresse, one of the PS’s traditional meetings.
