On Sunday evening, shortly after ten o’clock, when the last twisters and runners have packed up their skates, the caretaker will lock the doors of the Olympic Ice Sports Center and thus close a chapter in Munich’s sports history. Because the ice rink and training hall will not reopen, at least not for playing ice hockey, ice skating, ice dancing or curling.
