The focus of the lecture is on the development of humanity and its role on the planet as a geologically proven effective force. The major key developments from hunter-gatherer cultures, through the Neolithic Revolution to industrialization, are described. Humans’ influence on their immediate environment is growing and intensifying. At the same time, people are developing more and more skills in quantitative studies of nature and forecasting. How humanity uses nature without consideration.
