This supposed family link between Ghislaine Maxwell and Bill Gates would be proof that “powerful elites have been working together for a long time” and that they “stick together”.
According to this allegation, the maiden name of Mary Gates, the mother of Bill Gates, is Mary Maxwell. She would be the “cousin” or the “sister of Robert Maxwell, father of Ghislaine Maxwell”, presented as the “British media owner, former member of Parliament, alleged spy and fraudster”. “Ghislaine Maxwell and Bill Gates are cousins,” says the posts, whose message is the same copy/pasted. In addition to this family tie, mention is made of the fortune of Mary Maxwell’s father, who was a banker.

Contacted, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation indicates that this assertion “is false” and has been circulating since March 2021. English-language media such as USA Today Where Reuters have already checked it. This supposed relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell was also mentioned about the wife of Anthony Fauci, the White House Covid-19 adviser, of whom she would have been the sister (a false statement).
If the birth name of Bill Gates’ mother is indeed Mary Maxwell, there is no proof of a relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell. According to the Gates family tree (visible on geneanet.org), Mary Maxwell, born in 1929, had no brother or sister. His father, James Willard Maxwell, was a bank manager in Seattle, Washington, USA.
The obituary published in 1960 in the Seattle Post-Intelligent (found here by USA Today) confirms that he left behind only one daughter, Mary Gates. In the New York Times where the Seattle Timesthe obituary of the university professor and businesswoman, who died in 1994 of cancer, also does not mention any brothers or sisters.
