Yvonne Catterfeld, Conchita Wurst and Bertram Engel are the jury looking for the best cover band in “The Tribute – The Show of the Music Legends”.
New year, new show: Sat.1 is planning the show “The Tribute – The Show of the Music Legends” for 2024. Now the jury has been decided: Yvonne Catterfeld (44), Conchita Wurst (35) and Bertram Engel (66) are looking for Germany’s best cover band. The show is moderated by Matthias Opdenhövel (53).
Finalists can look forward to a live concert in a large arena
As the station announced in a press release on December 10th, the three music experts will evaluate the cover bands based on “voice, performance and sound”. The question is: Who is closest to the greatest music legends like Robbie Williams, Tina Turner or Roxette? “If the overall package convinces the jury and the studio audience, the bands will have the chance of a live concert in a large arena in the finale of the show,” it says.
Sat.1 station boss Marc Rasmus is pleased with the prominent jury, which shines with competence: “Yvonne Catterfeld knows who comes closest to the original vocally. Conchita Wurst is THE expert for the perfect performance. With more than 40 years of experience as a Drummer with Maffay and Lindenberg, Bertram Engel immediately recognizes which bands do justice to the original.” Moderator Matthias Opdenhövel, who currently hosts “The Masked Singer”, is also “known to be very familiar with big hits”.
The show is produced by Cheerio Entertainment based on the Dutch original “The Tribute – Battle of the Bands”. The exact broadcast date for next year has not yet been announced.
