We breathe badly in Marseille. After activating an information-recommendation procedure on Saturday, the prefect of the department triggered, this Sunday, the level 1 alert procedure relating to an episode of ozone air pollution. It should be lifted on Monday, says Atmosud.
High temperatures and little wind are favorable situations for this type of pollution. The initiation of this procedure leads in particular to a lowering of the maximum authorized speeds of 20 km / h on motorways and national roads.
In 2019, Atmosud had identified 21 episodes of ozone air pollution in the Bouches-du-Rhône, some lasting several days.
