Cookbooks are soul flatterers. Even the prospect of home-cooked food creates good feelings and whets the appetite. Sure, the dishes don’t always turn out well, but practice makes perfect. From the flood of new titles, we have filtered out books that are not only related to Munich, Bavaria or Austria (and convinced us). The mixture should also be right: healthy and vegetarian, young and creative, hearty and humorous. In the latter case, Harald Schmidt comes into play. We don’t know if the entertainer can cook.
