According to initial police findings, none of the 40 to 50 children on board were seriously injured in an accident involving a school bus in Middle Franconia. The fire department freed the students from the bus on Monday morning and they are now probably on their way to their schools on a replacement bus, a police spokesman said. One or two people may have bumped into each other on the bus, but no one was seriously injured.
The cause of the accident near Neusitz (Ansbach district) was initially unclear. The bus had entered a ditch to the right and was left at an angle so that the children could not get out on their own. The age of the affected children was initially not known.
