Telekom dismantles the last public telephone column in Neuried. The demand has “dropped drastically” due to the constantly growing landline and mobile network, it is said to be the justification. The new Telecommunications Act, which came into force on December 1, makes the dismantling possible. Until then, the offer of public telecommunications belonged to the so-called universal services to which Telekom was obliged. With the new law, this service will no longer be available. The dismantling of the pillar – there hasn’t been a real phone booth in the community for a long time – at Gautinger Strasse 6 on Neurieder Marktplatz is to take place in the spring.
