There’s anticipation among all fans of the “NCIS” universe: a long-awaited spin-off under the working title “Tiva” is going into production this year.

What takes a long time is finally being produced: As the US streaming service Paramount+ announced, a spin-off from the “NCIS” universe that fans have been eagerly awaiting will be filmed this year. According to the media portal “Deadline”, the newest child from the globally successful maternity ward at CBS Studios does not yet have a name. However, fans can already see from the provisional working title “Tiva” what it’s about: After ten years, the two long-time “NCIS” investigators Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly, 55) and Ziva David (Cote de Pablo, 44) are reuniting. . The short formula Tony plus Ziva equals “Tiva” is already making fans’ hearts beat faster all over the world.

Fans of the “Tiva” movement: “This is for you!”

With “Tiva,” CBS Studios isn’t just adding another building block to their “NCIS” universe. Tony and Ziva meet on screen for the first time in ten years. The two actors, together with John McNamara, are also responsible as producers for the ten episodes commissioned. According to initial information, “Tiva” will accompany Tony and Ziva on their escape across the European continent. “The world of Tony, Ziva and daughter Tali promises to be an action-packed rollercoaster ride full of love, danger, tears and laughter,” said the old and new dream team.

“We’ve been talking about this story for many years. And now, with John McNamara at the helm, we’re ready,” said Weatherly and de Pablo. “We would also like to thank the fans from around the world who have supported the ‘Tiva’ movement for years. To this day, they greet us in grocery stores and on the street to tell us how much these characters mean to them, and so on to ask what Tony and Ziva are doing now. This is for you!”

Tony’s “NCIS” exit after Ziva’s supposed death

Ten years ago, Ziva’s supposed death suddenly tore the two apart. At that time, Tony left the “NCIS” team to raise their daughter. Years later, Ziva was found alive, prompting her to complete one final mission with “NCIS” before being reunited with Tony and her daughter in Paris. Since then – and this is where the Paramount+ series begins – Tony and Ziva have raised their daughter Tali together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must flee across Europe to find out who is after them. They also have to learn to trust each other again so that they can finally experience their unconventional happy ending.

Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon, 72) led the investigation for 19 years. Numerous spin-offs followed. Weatherly, a member of the “NCIS” original cast, had been there since 2003. After 13 seasons, he left the series and took the lead role in the CBS drama series “Bull.” De Pablo joined “NCIS” in season three. In the Season 13 finale, it was said that her character Ziva had died in an explosion in Israel. Fans will be happy to know that this was a hoax.
