Several Russian strikes left three people dead and sixteen injured on Sunday in eastern and northeastern Ukraine, particularly in Kharkiv, the country’s second city, which is very regularly targeted, local authorities said.

A rocket attack killed two people in Pokrovsk, in the Donetsk region (east), its governor, Vadim Filashkin, said in a message on Telegram. The locality is about 60 km northwest of the city of Donetsk, the capital of the Russian-held region and whose annexation Moscow claims.

A third person died in a Russian strike against Monachynivkan, according to the governor of the Kharkiv region (northeast), Oleg Synegoubov. The body of an 88-year-old woman was “out of the rubble” of a house, he said. Earlier, Oleg Synegubov announced that another attack had left at least ten injured in Kharkiv.

He claimed on Telegram that Moscow forces had hit the center of the city with “a guided aerial bomb”. The Russian army is intensifying the use of these guided bombs dropped by plane, with very destructive power and equipped with fins allowing them to glide to increase their range of action.
