With the cast of Manuel Sanders, Alica Schmidt, Emil Agyekum and Johanna Martin, the DLV quartet finished first in the repechage race – the Olympic qualification. “We could all rely on each other. “I have never experienced a person approaching a run so calmly because they were sure that it would be very good,” said Schmidt happily after qualifying for the Olympics

“It was clear from the start that we wanted to bring the mixed doubles to the Olympics. I think we solved it very well and confidently,” said Sanders. Final runner Martin was very proud of her team: “It was exhausting, but we all surpassed ourselves.” Agyekum also said that the run was a lot of fun.

The German men are also cheering

The men’s relay team also had success. Kevin Kranz, Lucas Ansah-Peprah, Robin Ganter and Yannick Wolf also secured their ticket to the Olympics with their victory in the 4×100 meter qualifying run.

Meanwhile, the German women’s 4×400 meter race was less pleasing. Alica Schmidt, Skadi Schier, Mona Mayer and Hannah Mergenthaler only made it to the fourth relay. Second place would have been necessary for Paris.

The German women’s 4×100 meter relay and the men’s 4×400 meter relay had already qualified for Paris on Saturday.
