The rescue workers in Taiwan have responded to the severe… Earthquake a few days ago discovered another victim. The number of deaths rose to 13, the authorities announced. The helpers found the body in Taroko National Park, which is located in Hualien County, eastern Taiwan. According to Taiwanese information, the earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 had its epicenter a few kilometers away in the sea.

According to the authorities, the search teams were still busy recovering the body that was trapped between rocky debris. According to the latest information, the strongest earthquake in almost 25 years resulted in 1,145 injuries. As of Saturday, six people were still missing. Another 440 tourists and residents were still cut off from the outside world at various locations in the national park, but were safe, the authorities said. There was no further information about the Germans stuck underneath.

According to Interior Minister Lin Yu-chang, some damaged road sections have been repaired. The government is trying to get the stranded people to safe places as soon as possible. Dozens have already been taken to such locations, but rain has slowed down the work. A search party from Turkey was also expected on Saturday evening (local time) to use its experience and special equipment to help search for missing people in difficult-to-access places in the national park.
