Murder in Châteauroux, Panot and Hassan at the police station and salary inequalities

Did you miss the news this morning? We have put together a summary to help you see things more clearly.

Justice is moving forward after the tragic stabbing death of young Matisse in Châteauroux on Saturday. A 15-year-old teenager was indicted Monday evening for “murder” and placed in pre-trial detention, the Bourges prosecutor’s office announced Monday. His mother, aged 37, was indicted for “intentional violence” against a “vulnerable person”, and placed under judicial supervision, said the Bourges public prosecutor, Céline Visiedo. The mother “slapped the victim”, she added. Both mother and son are “of Afghan nationality and legally resident in the national territory”, according to the same source.

Mathilde Panot and Rima Hassan have an appointment this Tuesday with the police. They are in fact summoned as part of investigations for “apology of terrorism” after comments linked to the war between Israel and Hamas. To denounce these summons, LFI will organize a support rally, near the Paris court and the premises of the judicial police, at 8:30 a.m. The head of the LFI deputies has also planned to speak at this gathering.

In large groups, the wage inequality gap continues to widen. CAC40 bosses have in fact earned on average 130 times more than the average salary in their companies in 2022, an Oxfam study points out this Tuesday. This represents an increase of around 17% since 2019. And according to the NGO, in 1979, these bosses “earned on average “only” 40 times more than the minimum wage”. The differences are particularly large at Teleperformance, Carrefour and Stellantis. Oxfam is therefore calling for the establishment of a maximum salary, which would represent 20 times the company’s median salary. This is approximately the order of magnitude that we found in 2022 with the average salary at Crédit Agricole (23) or Orange (29).
