This sight may have reminded some of the racially motivated attack in 2016: On Saturday around 7:55 p.m., customers of the Olympia shopping center (OEZ) alerted the police because a man in camouflage clothing and a holster with a black firearm was seen in the OEZ.
The officers arrived with several patrols and met a 16-year-old living in Munich who matched the personal description. He was carrying a so-called airsoft gun, which looks like a real gun, and a one-handed knife, which is not allowed to be carried in public. The youth was reported for violations of the Weapons Act and after all police measures had been completed, he was handed over to a person with custody. The airsoft gun was seized. What motivated him is still unclear. Commissariat 25, which is responsible for weapons law, has taken over the further investigation.
