Since September, the federal police in Munich have again recorded an increasing number of refugees who have been illegally brought into the country by smugglers. They are usually apprehended or turn to the offices at the main and Ostbahnhof stations themselves. It was not until Friday that 13 people from Afghanistan reported to the guard at the main train station and applied for asylum.
According to the federal police, there are two families who probably met independently of each other at the main train station and apparently arrived in Munich on the same day via different routes. A family of two adults, aged 29 and 21, and five children aged four, six, eight and two fourteen years old said they had been smuggled to Germany via Iran and Turkey by boat, truck and car. They had been on the road for a total of three months and came to Munich in a car on Friday morning. The 29-year-old’s uncle mediated the smuggling. They would have paid several thousand euros for the entire route. The woman gave the current political situation after the Taliban took power as the reason for her flight.
The second family, a mother with her five children aged five, nine, 11, 13 and 15, said they fled after her husband was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Afghanistan. They paid around $1,500 per person for the smuggling. They traveled to Germany via Turkey, Italy and Austria, on the last leg by bus.
Both families were referred to the initial reception center in Munich. You must expect reports of illegal entry and illegal stay. The investigations against the gangs of smugglers are being conducted by the police.
