Munich Kindl beer? Never heard of it, let alone drank it. This is how many people react when they hear about the new construction of the Munich-Kindl brewery on Tegernseer Landstrasse. No wonder, because you can’t buy the Munich Kindl beer anywhere and you can’t get it in any pub. But it used to be a well-known brand and the Münchner-Kindl-Keller on Rosenheimer Straße was even the largest beer cellar in the city. Founded in 1880, the Munich-Kindl brewery was absorbed by the Union brewery in 1905 and later by Löwenbräu.
