Munich-Schwabing: Hidden delicacies in Café Dolcilicious – Munich

The Dolcilicous on Agnesstrasse wants to be found. And it has to be, because it’s not exactly at eye level with the passers-by who might stroll past here on a Saturday morning. Fortunately, a large board in the middle of the sidewalk shows the right way and immediately announces what baked delicacies await visitors today.

To get to the café, you finally go down a small staircase into the basement. In the anteroom is the counter, which also includes the display case with cakes and other pastries, behind which you can get a quick look into the kitchen. The dining room offers several square tables with matching white chairs and comfortable upholstered corner benches. When you enter the room, on the right you will find a collection of children’s books, games and other items that make children’s hearts beat faster. The little ones have also been taken into consideration here. If requested, owner Stefanie Seybold will bring a high chair. A children’s menu is also available upon request, including fresh waffles with powdered sugar (3.30 euros) or a “children’s cappuccino” (1 euro).

What is there and how much does it cost?

During the week, Dolcilicious only offers a small breakfast menu in addition to cakes and sweets, but there are still a few small warm lunch dishes. A larger selection is only available on Saturday, and for late risers until 2 p.m.; The menu includes some recurring dishes as well as a special daily offer. On the day of the test, this consisted of a slice of toasted farmer’s bread with guacamole, fresh avocado, baby spinach leaves, dried tomatoes and an organic fried egg, the origin of which was even stated. The bread costs 11.90 euros, although the satiety factor could have been a little higher for this price.

The hearty breakfast from the standard menu consists of two slices of bread, hummus, cream cheese, brie and mountain cheese, olives and vegetable sticks. The cheese, like the eggs, is organic quality. This is available for 14.90 euros, and a fried egg can be ordered for an additional charge of 2.50 euros. The breakfast dishes that are also offered during the week include an organic scrambled egg made from three eggs with fresh vegetables, mountain cheese, bread and butter for 12.90 euros, a vegan breakfast with croissant, bread, various vegan spreads and vegetables (12.90 euros) and scones with a spread of your choice for 5.60 euros. At the weekend there is also Bircher muesli for 6.50 euros.

The homemade cakes and pastries are also really good. The cinnamon roll tested was fresh and, upon request, came with a homemade cream cheese frosting (3.80 euros). The chocolate pear snail (3.70 euros) also tasted delicious, as it was very fluffy and not too sweet thanks to the dark chocolate. Gluten-free and vegan pastries are also on offer. There was also freshly squeezed orange juice (5.20 euros) and a cappuccino, which was strong and can also be served with a vegan milk alternative if desired, but could have been a little larger for 3.90 euros.

Who do you meet there?

The service was friendly and attentive, we asked several times whether everything was OK and took special requests into account. The fact that the prices for the breakfast dishes sometimes seem a bit high for what ultimately ends up on the plate is made up for by the organic quality and taste. Whether with family or friends, small children or grandparents – Dolcilicious is worth a visit.
